Welcome to Charn. Not so much a land as a location, Charn has always been peaceful. Stray cats of all sorts thrive here. Purebred or otherwise, any is welcome, and many have come. Whether you are a cat of the streets and business of the city, or the turf and laziness of the country, you will easily find a place of comfort. The cats here are peaceful, friendly, and happy to lend a paw to those who ask. Those here to stay, or just passing through, can easily find a guide to help them around for a day or two. Until you make friends that can help you beyond the basics. Country cats are dropped off at the field by their owners if they cannot handle owning a cat anymore; thus this is the place where those pampered, well-fed house cats start their stray life. On the other hand, the city cats are dropped off at the city streets for the same reasons. Some, however, have been strays all their life.

Do not be fooled by all the socialization of these cats. They share gossip and converse with friends and mates, but they do not form groups. Strays are strays no matter how they got there. The largest temporary groups consist of queens and kittens. The mother cats come together and share the responsibility of raising the kittens. Their mates keep a watchful eye for danger when the mothers rest and nurse. Mates also tend to keep together. Because when you really love someone, it is hard to keep apart.

The place has remained peaceful for years. Claws are rarely used for combat, and teeth remain for killing prey and eating. Until, that is, Bloodscream cursed his presence upon the peaceful cats of Charn. A large, muscular black and white tom with blood red eyes, he brings with him a ragged band of vicious cats. His owner is unknown; rumours say that his owner picked up his bags and left for another place as soon as he dropped off Bloodscream. Teeth and claws are sharpened for battle. Bloodscream, he calls himself, is the scourge of the cat world. With his powerful skills of persuasion and violence, he is gathering the less peaceful strays to fight for him. Any kits born within his group are trained in violence and battle, so that, over time, an army has begun to form. He destroys any cat in his way and tortures others for information.

More and more cats in Charn are becoming uneasy. They do not know why he is here or what he wants. They do know however that his violent ways must be stopped. A brave she-cat named Cinder proposed a plan. If he forms an army against us, we must form one against him, otherwise we will all get picked off one by one. So they did. The strays came from their various areas and formed a fighting force of their own. They train with claws sheathed and encouragement. No kit is pushed beyond their abilities. Mothers feel safe knowing that their kittens will come back without a scratch from battle training. A luxury that the queens in Bloodscream’s ranks could only dream about.

The strays elected Otter, a dark brown tom, as their leader. He comes from a place where battling cats are common. He knows and shares battle moves and techniques with the inexperienced strays. The Cats called their army The Bright Side, the only hope in the darkness of Bloodscream’s horrible ways. The only chance of driving him out.

So which will you choose? Are you violent and battle-hungry like Bloodscream’s cats? Or do you think that he is a cruel, evil, and violent cat that needs to be stopped? Do you have the courage to put his evil ways to a stop? Or die trying? Are you brave enough for the Bright Side?
